John B. Mumford was the Founding Partner of Crosspoint Venture Partners, the first seed venture capital firm, which was founded in 1982. Mumford was a co-founder and member of the board of directors of five public companies: Hello Direct, Inmac, Office Club (Office Depot), Ariba and E2open. Mumford co-founded and funded numerous private companies during his 40+ year career.
After serving in the Navy, Mumford served on the National Venture Capital Association Board and was the second recipient, in 2001, of the Venture Capital Lifetime Achievement Award. Mumford also appeared multiple times on the Forbes Midas Lists. Mumford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Arizona State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
